Do I need to keep my kids and/or pets off the lawn?

YES. Most of the chemical labels state that kids and pets need to stay off of the lawn until after the treatment dries. It is then safe for them to be let out. Count on at least 1 hour after the treatment is made just to be safe. This info can also be found on the door hanger left at the time of service.

Do I need to water the lawn after a treatment?

YES. Treatments typically need to be watered in the following morning. This gives the postemergent weed control time to set in and start working on those pesky weeds. I recommend running the sprinklers at least 15-20 minutes per station. This info can also be found on the door hanger left at the time of service.

Do I need to be home at the time of service?

NO. I typically try to give 1-2 days’ notice before I stop by. This allows you to make arrangements to put away pets, unlock gates, pick up the lawn, etc.

How do I pay?

Customers are eligible for a 10% Prepay discount at the beginning of the season when they pay for the entire lawn or tree care program. Otherwise, a door hanger with billing info is left at the time of service. Customers can mail a check or pay online via PayPal.

How often do I need to water the lawn?

I recommend watering 2 times per week, 12-20 minutes, in the Spring and Fall when daytime temperatures are in the 70’s-80’s. During the Summer when we get into the 90’s-100’s you need to add a third day of watering. You may need to adjust run times depending on your particular situation. Consult an irrigation professional.

How often and how tall do I need to mow?

Properly maintained lawns typically need to be mowed weekly during the growing season. Tall fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass lawns should be mowed 3-4 inches tall. Bermuda lawns can be mowed 2-3 inches tall. Never cut off more than 1/3 of the grass leaves at one time. This info can also be found on the door hanger left at the time of service.

You’ve treated our yard once or twice now and we still have weeds. What’s up with that?

Adequate weed control probably won’t be obtained after one or two treatments. In cases where the lawn has rarely or never been treated, it typically takes one season (if not two seasons) for customers to start seeing a big difference in weed reduction and control. Years of neglect cannot be cured with one or two treatments!
